First of all, I just want to say thanks for checking this site out. I am working hard on making it a laid back type of place where I can share my thoughts on writing with you, as well as update you on what I am working on.
I am not an expert on writing by any means. I have taken some college courses on writing, but I don’t have a writing-relating degree. I don’t follow the “rules” when it comes to writing, partly because I don’t know most of the rules in the first place, but mostly because I like the way I write. As I learn new things I may adopt them into my writing, I may not.
So here is a crash course in who I am:
I am married to a beautiful, kind, loving, patient woman named Brittany. She is an elementary school teacher and has almost completed her Master’s degree. We have three pets: Zeus, a boxer-lab mix; Attie, a Jack Russell terrier; and Penny, a russian blue cat (we think). No kids… yet.
I spent eight years in the Air Force after high school, in the Security Forces career field. Security Forces is basically what the Air Force calls their police and security personnel. Some kinds of work I did included providing security for gates, resources, and people. I also spent a lot of time patrolling the streets, writing tickets for speeding, responding to incidents, typical police work. During my time in the Air Force I deployed twice to Iraq where I mostly did the same types of work.
In 2014 I separated from the Air Force and my wife and I moved to Columbus, OH. We have been loving our time here so far and are probably going to be staying around for the foreseeable future.
In my free time, when I am not writing, I like to read (I know, shocker). My favorite authors are Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, and J.K. Rowling. I also love college football and binging TV series on Netflix. My favorite shows are House of Cards, Black Mirror, and Stranger Things.
